2023 Sparkle Youngstown

With the winter holidays approaching and the season of giving upon us, please consider supporting Youngstown CityScape with a generous year-end gift. From twinkling lights and evergreens, to 25,000 plants and 700+ volunteers on Streetscape Day, to our exciting renovations at CityScape at Briel’s, CityScape is helping reimagine the downtown district and the Youngstown community.

2023 has been a year of advancement for Youngstown CityScape. We are:

• Undertaking renovations on the CityScape at Briel’s Greenhouse!
• Starting upgrades to our educational/event space at CityScape at Briel’s
• Moved into our newly designed office space at 250 E. Federal Street

CityScape continues to take on bigger, bolder projects with positive long-range ramifications for the organization and the community. We are tackling Youngstown’s history of disinvestment and the resulting business/retail desert. Our greenhouse will afford space to grow annual plants, preserve our last urban greenhouse, and sow the seeds for helping rebuild the local economy. The new space will allow us to offer expanded annual mum and holiday greenery sales, horticulture classes, and much needed community event space. All this work is made possible by good friends like you!

Please help make this year’s Sparkle spectacular and support our beautification and revitalization work all year long. With anticipated costs up over 20% we need your backing now more than ever. Your donation helps purchase plants, trees, and foliage that decorate the city during the summer months, evergreens and lights that adorn the city in the winter months and supports all the beautification work done throughout the year.

For over a quarter century, Youngstown CityScape has set the bar for downtown streetscape design, infrastructure improvements, and public art. We improve the city’s livability, adding urban landscaping, staging events, adding public art, and encouraging walkability. Our partners range from returning citizens’ advocates to cultural and educational institutions, and every type of entity in between, ensuring broad outreach and stakeholder inclusion. From the twinkle of Sparkle Youngstown and the Holiday Parade to the creation of colorful, urban, flower beds and planters, from the John Young Birthday celebrations and Beautification Awards, to restoring the urban tree canopy and over $1 million dollars raised and invested in Wick Park improvements, CityScape continues to find new ways to energize Youngstown and embrace its neighborhoods.
